Job description
Position Overview
The role involves supervising examinations in accordance with regulatory guidelines to ensure fairness, maintain security of exam materials, and prevent malpractice or administrative errors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Familiarize thoroughly with College and Awarding Organisation examination regulations.
- Collect examination materials from the Examinations Office prior to the examination.
- Verify that the examination packs match the specified requirements.
- Maintain exam security before, during, and after its administration.
- Ensure proper room setup compliant with regulations.
- Provide candidates with guidelines on examination rules at the start.
- Monitor the examination environment vigilantly throughout the session.
- Ensure exams begin and end as scheduled, accommodating students with special provisions.
- Accurately complete seating charts, attendance registers, and related paperwork; verify completed exam scripts against registers.
- Escort candidates for breaks, ensuring no unauthorized materials are accessed and rules are followed.
- Return all exam materials and unused items promptly to the Examinations Office.
- Assist students requiring a scribe or reader due to access arrangements.
- Report any incidents or suspected malpractice immediately.
- Participate in ongoing specialized invigilation training and assist in delivering training to other staff members.
- Perform any other tasks appropriate to the role’s grade as assigned.
