About the Role
Hauraki District Council is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Information Team Leader to guide and develop a skilled team, promote a culture of ongoing improvement and innovation, and oversee the management of the Council's critical information assets. This leadership role involves ensuring information governance, records management, and compliance meet legislative standards, while fostering strong partnerships within the Council to deliver excellent services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for the Information Team to achieve high performance.
- Cultivate a positive and cooperative team culture that supports success.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and explore innovative solutions.
- Oversee information governance frameworks, records management practices, and compliance adherence.
- Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships throughout the Council to enhance internal service delivery.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an approachable leader who inspires trust and accountability, communicates effectively, and drives team development. Traits of energy, initiative, and enthusiasm for continuous improvement are essential. Candidates should have proven experience in team leadership, a collaborative style, and the ability to manage change and process enhancement confidently. Familiarity with information or records management is required or the aptitude to quickly acquire this expertise. A commitment to exceptional customer service and positive organisational outcomes is vital, along with holding a Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
Qualifications and Eligibility
Preferred qualifications include Information Management, Records Management, Business, or related fields. However, demonstrated leadership success and capability building in relevant teams will be equally considered. Applicants must have current legal authorization to work in New Zealand.
