Job description
Role Overview
Utilize your practical trade expertise to assist individuals in creating improved futures. Lead groups of prisoners engaged in work within a secure and practical environment at Karreenga. Provide training, mentoring, and support to help develop valuable job skills. Join a team that integrates industry operations, rehabilitation efforts, and public service commitments. This is a continuous full-time position with an annual salary range of $85,787 to $98,651 plus superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily industry operations ensuring safety and efficiency while achieving set production and service objectives.
- Deliver training, skill assessments, and coaching to prisoners to enhance their practical work capabilities and job preparedness.
- Maintain accurate documentation, monitor inventory, and uphold quality, safety, and security protocols.
- Conduct searches, administer tool security, and comply with occupational health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with prison staff to foster prisoner development, encourage ongoing improvements, and promote positive outcomes.
Candidate Profile
Possession of a current forklift license is preferred. Having a trade qualification or significant experience in meat processing is considered highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate:
- Robust experience in trade, manufacturing, or production industries.
- Proven skills in coaching, motivating, and supervising individuals.
- Strong problem-solving abilities coupled with confidence in decision-making.
- Excellent communication capabilities emphasizing teamwork, safety, and continuous enhancement.
