Position Summary

This role is a fixed-term contract position covering parental leave until the end of 2027. We seek engineers with a strong commitment to continuous improvement combined with a pragmatic approach. As an Industrial Engineer, you will collaborate with departments such as R&D, Quality, Service, Logistics, and Production to implement lean value streams, manufacture-friendly designs, efficient material and information flows within structured layouts, along with optimizing jigs, tools, and work instructions for operators.

Responsibilities

• Support the mission, vision, and shared values of Intuitive Surgical.
• Identify and implement projects that elevate quality, efficiency, cost savings, flexibility, and capacity using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Maintain performance metrics and analyze data to drive improvements.
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering/Design, Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, Service, and Quality teams to align objectives and priorities.
• Ensure compliance with current Quality Management Systems (QMS), DOPs, SOPs, and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related fields.
• Some practical experience in the medical technology industry is preferred.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment, including use of gloves and ESD clothing.
• Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with MS Office applications; SAP and CAD skills are advantageous.
• High motivation and a proactive approach; capable of initiating measures and working efficiently in a team setting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple small projects simultaneously.
• Good communication skills for building internal and external relationships.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
