Role Overview

This position supports the daily Human Resources operations for locations in California, Florida, and remote settings, contributing to the advancement of the Human Resources function at the Los Angeles Film School. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the recruitment lifecycle by posting jobs, monitoring approvals, overseeing the applicant tracking system (ATS), conducting background checks, and communicating clearly with candidates, hiring managers, and HR team members.

  • Provide candidate status updates and resolve concerns during recruitment in partnership with hiring managers.

  • Maintain up-to-date and confidential employee personnel files, process status changes, and respond to HRIS inquiries efficiently.

  • Handle termination procedures including coordination with Payroll, conducting exit interviews, ensuring proper documentation, and managing collection of company property.

  • Support payroll deadlines by ensuring timely HRIS updates and partner closely with payroll to guarantee accurate bi-weekly processing.
  • Assist HR Director with special projects, serve as liaison to facilities personnel, and maintain strong relations with service providers including ATS and background check vendors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Three to five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience emphasizing recruitment, onboarding, HRIS management, employee records, and HR operations.
  • Experience in supporting HR functions across multiple states, including benefits and leave administration, is preferable.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Sociology, or a related field is preferred; alternatively, five years of HR experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Professional certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or HR Management Certificate are valued.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with UKG (formerly UltiPro) and NetTime or comparable timekeeping software.
