Role Overview
Meridian is seeking a full-time HR & People Operations Manager to work remotely within the United States. This role involves hands-on management of HR operations and designing scalable people processes that align with the company’s growth and remote culture. The position requires occasional domestic travel and U.S. work eligibility without sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily HR services including employee relations, policy interpretation, and guidance to managers.
- Collaborate with the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) for HR compliance, payroll processing, benefits, and 401(k) administration.
- Support managers with coaching, documentation, performance conversations, and HR best practices.
- Develop and refine scalable HR procedures for the expanding remote workforce.
- Drive initiatives with leadership to enhance employee experience and operational effectiveness.
- Oversee complete onboarding process from offer acceptance through successful integration, coordinating with recruiting, IT, and business leaders.
- Conduct 30-, 60-, and 90-day employee and manager check-ins to ensure engagement and smooth transition.
- Continuously enhance onboarding and orientation programs based on feedback.
- Design and implement employee engagement surveys and eNPS to measure satisfaction.
- Lead employee recognition, engagement, and culture-building activities aligned with core company values.
- Coordinate quarterly bonus programs and oversee annual performance and compensation reviews, including quarterly check-ins.
- Review and recommend adjustments to bonus structures and job title frameworks to maintain internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Partner with recruiting to facilitate smooth new hire transitions and support ongoing workforce planning as the organization grows.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience working with founder-led or entrepreneurial organizations transitioning past 50 employees, balancing operational HR support and structured people practices.
- 4 to 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources or People Operations within growing organizations.
- Experience supporting remote or hybrid U.S. workforces across multiple states.
- Proven skills in employee onboarding, relations, and HR policy management.
- Competency in administering employee engagement surveys and implementing improvements based on feedback.
- Background in developing job architecture, career progression frameworks, or related talent development processes.
- Experience managing performance review and compensation planning cycles.
- Ability to build new processes alongside ongoing HR operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalents.
- Prior experience in professional services or consulting sector beneficial.
- Experience working closely with PEOs and major payroll/HRIS platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, BambooHR.
- Familiarity with 401(k) administration and regulatory compliance.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range between $95,000 and $115,000 annually with eligibility for bonus compensation.
