Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to enhance employee skills, communication, and plant operational performance
- Manage recruitment activities for exempt and non-exempt roles, coordinate new hire orientations, create and place job advertisements, and administer employment screenings and background verifications
- Maintain personnel records ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Oversee compensation programs and lead performance and merit review processes to maintain fairness and support succession planning
- Maintain and update HR and timekeeping systems and ensure accurate information is sent to payroll
- Provide coaching and training to managers on HR policies, procedures, employment regulations, and handle employee relations matters such as complaints and civil rights issues
- Coordinate employee activities to ensure adherence to company policies
- Attend administrative meetings and contribute to continual process improvements through policy recommendations
- Manage employee terminations, conduct exit interviews, analyze outcomes, and represent the company in unemployment claims
- Support and participate in safety programs including training sessions to evaluate and improve safety processes
- Develop, administer, and track onsite training programs, identify training needs, and coordinate external training initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Associate degree or equivalent in a related field
- Preferred minimum of five years of relevant experience
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills aligning with policies, procedures, and employment laws
- Ability to objectively guide employees and management through complex and sensitive issues
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional conduct at all times
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Comprehensive understanding of employment practices, laws, and regulations
- Competent computer proficiency
