About the Role

Our client, an international company based in Cologne, is currently seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (m/w/d), ideally at a senior level, for a permanent full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to both specialists and management, offering guidance aligned with internal policies, legal regulations, and established HR procedures.
  • Lead and actively support organizational change initiatives, ensuring effective follow-up on HR-related actions.
  • Drive implementation of HR objectives consistent with the company’s mission, vision, and strategy, contributing to organizational growth.
  • Participate in critical HR projects such as health management, change management, personnel development, and compensation structures.
  • Work confidently with the works council, applying solid knowledge of the Works Constitution Act (BetrVG) and advising leadership on co-determination and collective labor law matters.
  • Contribute to end-to-end HR process design and promote the adoption of digital and automated HR solutions.
  • Provide comprehensive consultation on personnel, management, and organizational topics including conflict resolution, attendance management, and labor law framework.
  • Serve as an enabler and liaison among HR, service teams, management, and employees, fostering collaboration and supporting continuous transformation and development.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Human Resources or a comparable qualification, alternatively, relevant commercial training with HR focus.
  • Minimum six years’ experience as an HR Business Partner or HR officer, preferably at a senior level.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with works councils and comprehensive knowledge of the BetrVG, especially regarding rights and obligations concerning co-determination.
  • Experience in a global matrix organization and proven ability to implement change processes is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling adaptation to diverse personalities and fostering trustful relationships between management, employees, and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in standard MS Office applications; SAP SuccessFactors knowledge is a plus.
  • Good command of English in spoken and written form.
  • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style combined with proactivity, creativity, resilience, flexibility, and openness to change.
