Madison State Hospital, located in a rural area overlooking the Ohio River, has served Hoosiers since 1910. As part of the Indiana State Psychiatric Hospital Network, the facility provides comprehensive treatment programs using a Trauma Informed Care approach, including various therapies and specialty groups, aimed at delivering state-of-the-art care.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, including sinks and mirrors.
  • Perform mopping and waxing duties on floors.
  • Dust and polish all furniture surfaces.
  • Wash windows, blinds, and walls as needed.
  • Distribute supplies such as paper towels, bathroom tissue, cups, and cleaning agents.
  • Manage inventory by requisitioning, distributing, and storing necessary materials.
  • Identify and report required repairs for equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure consistent attendance at assigned work locations is maintained.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, power scrubbers, polishers, and buffers.
  • Knowledge of various cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and their proper applications.
  • Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Capability to assist in training new staff and completing reports and orders.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Supervisory Role

This position may involve supervisory duties depending on agency requirements.

Compensation

The starting salary is typically around $26,312 annually, though it may vary based on qualifications and experience.
