About the Role
Embrace the opportunity to make a positive impact as a Health Care Support Worker through the HCAP Program with Sienna Senior Living in Chilliwack, BC. As a vital member of our community, you will help foster connections and enrich the daily experiences of residents while working collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in delivering non-direct and non-clinical support as part of a healthcare team to clients, residents, families, and visitors to meet established care needs.
- Build positive relationships with residents and families and support their physical, emotional, cultural, social, and spiritual well-being. Remain observant to potential safety concerns or changes in residents’ behavior or conditions, and report findings to your supervisor.
- Assist with meal services by preparing dining rooms, transporting residents, assembling and collecting trays, and providing limited meal preparation as needed.
- Support daily activities by prepping materials, transporting clients or residents to events, encouraging their participation, and supplying assistance as necessary.
- Undertake light housekeeping tasks, including floor care, dusting, dishwashing, and managing laundry processes.
- Welcome and direct visitors according to safety, security, and infection control standards, offering information or referrals where needed.
- Monitor and restock personal care, housekeeping, and first aid supplies, helping ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Carry out additional related duties as required.
Requirements
- Successful completion of Grade 10, including English 10 or an equivalent credential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and interact professionally with others.
- Demonstrated organizational abilities and initiative in managing tasks.
- Physically able to handle the role’s demands.
- Skill in operating equipment associated with the position.
- All candidates must successfully pass a Criminal Records Check (applicable for British Columbia applicants).
Additional Information
- This is a full-time position, approximately 37.5 hours per week, with shifts encompassing days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Candidates must have open availability.
- This position has an existing vacancy and is subject to the terms of the collective agreement once wage leveling ends.
- A wage leveling rate of $26.31 per hour applies until future notice.
