About the Role
The Global Creative Content (GCC) team operates within Sony Pictures' Global marketing organization delivering creative support across Television Distribution, Theatrical Marketing, Home Entertainment, Consumer Platforms, Sony Electronics, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Corporate Communications, and additional partners. This fast-moving, hands-on team embraces urgency, initiative, and supports diverse marketing and production initiatives. Reporting to the GCC Creative Director, the Graphic Designer collaborates closely with cross-disciplinary team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce refined graphic designs catering to various entertainment marketing requirements.
- Create premium original key art for TV series and platform graphics utilizing Adobe Photoshop, demonstrating strong conceptual insights, sophisticated typography, and expert image manipulation including compositing and talent retouching.
- Design persuasive sales presentations and pitch materials employing Photoshop and Microsoft PowerPoint, integrating compelling visual storytelling and polished typography.
- Develop brand artwork for new and existing brands encompassing visual themes, logo development, color and typography systems, brand toolkits, guide documents, studio IP-based ideation, and live event conceptual mockups.
- Prepare production artwork deliveries such as pitch materials, shot maps, and adaptable assets across multiple platforms or formats.
- Maintain organized, clean files for seamless updating, sharing, version control, and comprehensive delivery; ensure quality control for design consistency, technical accuracy, spelling, image resolution, and fulfillment of final specifications.
- Collaborate proactively and positively with producers, fellow designers, editors, creative leaders, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for entertainment creative content, including acquired series, library assets, and branding campaigns.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess 5 to 7 years of professional design experience within high-volume entertainment design, studio, agency, or creative production settings; skilled in platform artwork, campaign extensions, title treatments, or related entertainment marketing tasks.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Digital Design, or possess equivalent professional credentials.
- Show strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Photoshop competence must include art creation, image manipulation, photographic compositing, masking, retouching, and color adjustments.
- Exhibit advanced skills in presentation design with Microsoft PowerPoint; familiarity with Keynote, Canva, and Google suite tools is advantageous.
- Capable of independently managing multiple projects effectively.
- Proficient in driving design projects from initial concepts through to final productions while incorporating feedback constructively.
- Communicate creative ideas clearly and convincingly to peers.
- Excel at creative problem solving with a commitment to continuous learning and supporting team members.
- Maintain a current online portfolio displaying recent design work.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or eagerness to improve in high-resolution retouching and key art development.
- Practical use of AI tools like Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Gemini, etc., selectively to enhance creative outputs.
- Familiarity with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, audiovisual editing, live-action, 2D/3D, motion graphics, or game engine animation workflows.
- Knowledge of print production mechanicals.
Compensation and Additional Information
The starting salary range for this position is $72,000 to $90,000 per year, with potential eligibility for annual incentives and comprehensive benefits. Salary offered will depend on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location.
