Overview

The Gallery Associate role encompasses supporting daily gallery operations, assisting in sales processes, building artist and client relationships, and managing administrative tasks. This position requires a professional demeanor, excellent communication, and strong organization skills to reflect the gallery’s esteemed brand and market presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and nurture long-term client connections locally in Doha and internationally through exemplary client service, understanding design trends, POS system accuracy, and coordination of sales-related logistics.
  • Welcome and assist collectors, advisors, designers, and guests both in person and via written correspondence with consistent professionalism.
  • Display artwork knowledgeably while maintaining detailed client records in the CRM, preparing invoices, agreements, and collaborating on shipping and installation logistics.
  • Support exhibitions and art fairs by following up with collectors promptly and maintaining organized sales activity records.
  • Aid in managing exhibition curation processes including artwork intake, condition reporting, inventory control, and installation/deinstallation efforts.
  • Maintain the gallery’s visual standards with clean, organized spaces and accurate record-keeping of exhibition materials and pricing.
  • Assist with detailed administrative support including POS reconciliation, documentation, payment tracking, and maintaining artist and consignor files.
  • Support marketing activities by preparing and scheduling social media posts, updating website content, arranging artwork photography, and ensuring brand-consistent marketing materials.
  • Coordinate effectively with artists, designers, vendors, and logistics partners ensuring seamless communication and timely execution of gallery operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Art History, Fine Arts, Arts Administration, or related fields.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in commercial galleries, luxury retail, auction houses, art advisory, or similar client-oriented environments preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for special events and exhibitions.
  • Sales support, retail operations, or hospitality exposure in upscale settings is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Middle East art/design markets and international contemporary trends is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
  • Capability to lift weight up to 12 kilograms.
  • Effective multitasking, time management, and independent judgment are essential.
