About the Role

This opportunity involves joining a pioneering team within the UK and Ireland Platform and Enablement Super Tribe at Flutter, a leading global organization in sports betting, gaming, and entertainment. The team aims to spearhead advanced AI innovations to elevate the platform and enhance customer experiences across the business.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will serve as a versatile developer responsible for delivering end-to-end features, designing backend APIs, crafting user-facing frontends, and ensuring seamless real-time interactions. The role primarily utilizes technologies such as Python, React, TypeScript, and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services using Python and frameworks like FastAPI, designing RESTful APIs and integrating with AWS technologies such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and Bedrock.
• Create frontend components with React and TypeScript, applying responsive design with Tailwind CSS, and managing application state using Redux or Zustand.
• Take full ownership of feature development by collaborating with Product Owners to understand requirements, architect comprehensive solutions, implement code, perform testing, and deploy to production.
• Incorporate AI large language model capabilities, managing prompt engineering, token control, streaming responses, and error handling effectively.
• Design clear and accessible APIs for ease of consumption by frontend teams and branding stakeholders, including thorough documentation.
• Implement a robust testing strategy comprising unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure reliable functionality across diverse scenarios.
• Conduct debugging and troubleshooting across the full stack, utilizing observability tools to diagnose production issues.
• Collaborate closely with backend and frontend engineers, DevOps personnel, and the Product Owner through code reviews, design sessions, and incident management.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional experience involving both backend and frontend development.
• Strong skills in Python or a demonstrated ability to learn it rapidly.
• Proficiency in React and TypeScript for frontend application development.
• Solid understanding of REST API architecture and HTTP principles.
• Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and SQS.
• Comfortable using Git workflows and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
• Proven track record of shipping production-ready features.
• Excellent debugging and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to request assistance.

Desirable Skills

• Exposure to large language model (LLM) APIs and AI feature integration.
• Knowledge of serverless computing architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like CDK or Terraform.
• Background in working with real-time or streaming data applications.
• Experience in regulated industry environments.
• Familiarity with design systems and reusable component libraries.
• Previous experience working in startups or small, high-performance teams.
