Job description

Overview

We seek a technically capable Fleet Support & IoT Engineer to lead the development, deployment, and upkeep of IoT-enabled solutions and fleet management systems. This role aims to enhance fleet efficiency, boost safety measures, improve user experience, and integrate cutting-edge technology with training and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement IoT frameworks to improve fleet functionality and safety standards.
  • Install and maintain both hardware and software systems critical for the supportive learning environment.
  • Create and integrate bespoke digital tools and software applications to increase operational productivity.
  • Ensure seamless integration of IoT technologies with current IT and fleet infrastructure.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and technical support for fleet management applications to ensure optimal uptime.
  • Oversee fleet real-time tracking, maintenance planning, system monitoring, and reporting for maximum efficiency.
  • Lead preventive maintenance initiatives for Electric Vehicle (EV) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle systems.
  • Detect system faults promptly and collaborate with technical support teams and third-party service providers to resolve issues.
  • Analyze data from IoT devices and fleet management systems to discover patterns, detect problems, and identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Generate routine reports and visual dashboards featuring key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Provide insights based on fleet data to recommend improvements.
  • Supervise system performance metrics to pinpoint optimization possibilities.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, IT, Customer Service, and external partners.
  • Effectively relay complex technical information to colleagues without technical backgrounds.
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts with suppliers, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
  • Support operational and training programs in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advances in IoT, fleet technologies, EV, CNG systems, telematics, and smart mobility.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, IoT, or related technical fields.
  • Experience working with IoT solutions, connected vehicle technologies, telematics, or fleet management systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of fleet tracking, vehicle condition monitoring, and maintenance platforms.
  • Familiarity with IoT components including sensors, connectivity setups, data platforms, and integration methodologies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Knowledge of Electric Vehicle and CNG vehicle systems is highly advantageous.
  • Prior experience with software integration and data analytics is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and capability in managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
