Endura Mining is embarking on a foundational phase that offers a unique opportunity to influence its future trajectory. Production is anticipated to begin within six months, with plans to expand over multiple gold and copper assets.
Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified Fitter/Welder to perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and installations at the Snowy River processing plant and related facilities. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the fixed plant and associated equipment operate reliably and safely. As a hands-on member of a small, versatile maintenance team, you will be expected to take initiative, manage your workload effectively, and assist across various tasks within the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure personal and team safety by adhering to health and safety regulations, reporting hazards, and maintaining a positive safety culture aligned with company values.
- Follow New Zealand’s health, safety, and environmental legislation, as well as company policies and site safety management systems.
- Conduct scheduled preventive and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant machinery, including crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps, flotation cells, and water infrastructure.
- Fabricate and install components accurately according to technical drawings and standards.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks compliant with relevant procedures and quality standards.
- Inspect and test equipment performance before returning to operation to confirm safe and efficient functionality.
- Collaborate with OEMs as needed for repairs and installations.
- Work closely with maintenance and processing teams to meet plant availability goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete all maintenance work and documentation efficiently and accurately.
- Assist other tradespeople and participate in ongoing skill development and training to maintain competencies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a recognized mechanical trade qualification in fitting, mechanical work, welding, or fabrication.
- Proven experience in maintaining fixed plant equipment, preferably within mining or other heavy industrial environments.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and team wellbeing.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work safely from technical drawings, procedures, and permits.
- Self-driven with strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
