About the Role

We seek an experienced Financial Controller for a swiftly expanding FinTech enterprise based in Berlin. This pivotal position involves comprehensive responsibility over financial control, statutory reporting, audit supervision, tax compliance, and the enhancement of financial systems. You will work closely alongside senior finance leaders to develop scalable procedures and controls within a dynamic, international setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close operations, ensuring accurate and timely management reports across multiple company entities.
• Oversee annual audit processes and fulfill statutory reporting obligations across various international locations.
• Draft technical accounting documents, uphold accounting policies, and reinforce internal control frameworks.
• Collaborate with external consultants on transfer pricing, VAT, payroll taxes, and comprehensive global compliance issues.
• Supervise cash flow, liquidity levels, foreign exchange risks, and intercompany account balances.
• Lead initiatives to improve financial ERP systems, promote automation, and ensure audit-ready financial reporting.
• Partner with senior management to aid in strategic decision-making and sustainable business growth.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or comparable), with over three years of post-qualification experience.
• Prior role as a Financial Controller or similar senior financial control position.
• Proven background in FinTech, Payments, Banking, Financial Services, or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with multinational group structures and international compliance requirements.
• Deep knowledge of statutory financial reporting, audit coordination, and control environments.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and finance system operations, emphasizing process optimization and automation.
• Capable of effectively engaging auditors, tax experts, and senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in both English and German languages is essential.

Additional Information

This position offers a competitive salary package ranging from €100,000 to €120,000 annually, plus bonus opportunities. The role is hybrid but based in Berlin, Germany, within a regulated and growing FinTech company operating across Europe.
