Role Overview

The Finance Manager position reports directly to the General Manager and is a key member of the Executive Team. This role leads the group's financial activities and acts as an essential commercial partner. It requires combining analytical thinking with hands-on execution, transforming financial data into actionable commercial insights while ensuring all financial deliverables such as management accounts, board reports, and cashflow forecasts are precise, punctual, and of exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and timely management accounts, board reports, and cashflow forecasts.
  • Collaborate with business leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation.
  • Deliver commercial analysis to enhance decision-making and challenge existing assumptions.
  • Oversee both short-term and long-term cash planning.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure the integrity of financial data across the group.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of two members.
  • Improve financial systems and reporting frameworks.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, preferably with practice experience.
  • Experience in retail finance; knowledge of manufacturing or product-based businesses is advantageous.
  • Strong expertise in cashflow management, foreign exchange, and working capital within a dynamic trading setting.
  • Confident in managing board reporting and presenting financial information to senior executives.
  • Exceptional critical thinking paired with a reliable record of delivering accurate, timely results.
  • Practical and detail-oriented approach, willing to engage deeply with financial details.
