Field Service Engineer (ESS / PV)

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to provide expert on-site commissioning, maintenance, and repairs for solar inverter and energy storage products throughout Ireland. This role demands a proactive approach to ensuring optimal system operation, leveraging remote diagnostics and in-person interventions.

Key Duties

• Conduct commissioning, maintenance, and repair tasks on Sungrow solar inverters and energy storage solutions.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues using remote monitoring, site inspections, and systematic diagnostic methods.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to enhance system reliability, safety, and performance.
• Offer clear technical support and practical solutions to customers, EPC partners, and service teams.
• Accurately record service activities, observations, and corrective measures within designated reporting platforms.
• Collaborate intensively with technical support, project teams, and sales personnel to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

Candidate Profile

• Possess qualifications in electrical engineering, electronics, renewable energy, or related technical domains.
• Practical experience in field service, commissioning, maintenance, or technical assistance, preferably within solar, energy storage, or power electronics sectors.
• Skilled in interpreting electrical schematics, employing diagnostic instruments, and safely handling low to medium voltage systems.
• Capable of independently resolving issues while effectively communicating progress and solutions to clients.
• Willing and able to travel extensively across Ireland; holding a valid driver's licence is essential.
• Proficient in English at a C1 level; knowledge of additional European languages is advantageous.
