Facility Cleaning Manager

This full-time position is based in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Role Overview

The Facility Cleaning Manager will report directly to senior management and is entrusted with various key responsibilities related to cleaning operations and staff management within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and enforcing company policies, procedures, and standards for facility cleaning.
• Provide training to cleaning personnel to ensure full comprehension of company policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
• Oversee cleaning staff performance, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and professional conduct are maintained at all times.
• Manage supply availability and educate staff on the correct use of cleaning materials.
• Conduct quality control inspections, oversee inventory of materials, and supervise proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Assess employee performance, facilitate on-the-job training and coaching, and administer disciplinary measures when necessary.
• Report incidents, procedural non-compliances, or safety issues to management promptly.
• Address and resolve customer complaints regarding sanitation issues in a timely manner.
• Recommend purchases related to cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Ensure the effective and efficient use of cleaning materials and equipment to optimize resources.
• Maintain sufficient stock of cleaning supplies and equipment required by staff.
• Stay updated on advancements in cleaning technologies and products to enhance service quality.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• HND or Bachelor's degree in any relevant field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a cleaning management role with supervisory duties within a facilities management or cleaning enterprise.
• Experience managing multiple sites is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of appropriate cleaning materials and equipment tailored to different cleaning requirements.
• Proven capability to lead and manage multiple teams effectively.
• Practical cleaning experience is essential.
• Highly organized with excellent coaching and mentoring skills.
• Knowledgeable about fundamental safety protocols.
• Resilient and capable of performing under pressure.
