About the Role

As a Facility Attendant Level 2 at our Hampton, GA distribution center, you will be vital in maintaining the general upkeep and operational functionality of the facility. This role supports mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance tasks, ensuring materials and equipment are in optimal condition to facilitate smooth logistical operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance, including servicing hand tools and minor floor machines.
  • Serve as a Qualified Electrical Assistant ensuring adherence to electrical safety procedures.
  • Support installation and removal of equipment throughout the facility.
  • Inspect facility interiors and exteriors to identify upkeep and repair needs.
  • Manage PAD (Powered Industrial Truck) batteries by changing, maintaining, cleaning, and documenting battery operations.
  • Conduct maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting on Label Tec Printers.
  • Operate various hand and power tools such as drills, saws, sanders, grinders, pneumatic devices, and welders.
  • Fabricate and repair assets including furniture assembly, shelving, racks, and workbenches using carpentry, welding, and fabrication skills.
  • Perform plumbing duties including faucet and sprinkler installation/repairs and clearing drains and sumps.
  • Execute minor drywall repairs, painting, concrete patching, and small-scale concrete replacement.
  • Contribute to preventive maintenance programs including pest control and HVAC, updating related records.
  • Maintain cleanliness by removing cardboard bales, managing trash with dumpsters, and keeping grounds tidy.
  • Operate snow removal equipment to clear walkways, roads, and parking areas as assigned.
  • Drive company vehicles to assist with yard maintenance, vendor escorting, and material pick-ups.
  • Adopt safe operation of all power tools and equipment while practicing proper lifting techniques and promptly managing spill cleanup.
  • Complete paperwork, material requisitions, and maintain work order logs with accurate data entries on handheld devices and apps.
  • Follow safety protocols including Lock Out/Tag Out and Arc Flash procedures to maintain a secure workplace.
  • If assigned to Food & Beverage areas: uphold sanitation and maintenance standards supporting industrial ammonia refrigeration health.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 47 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
  • Continuous movement around the site for up to 10-12 hours per shift.
  • Work in environments with temperature extremes, including below freezing for food distribution sites.
  • Tolerance for working in confined spaces, exposure to dust, odors, noise, vibration, standing on concrete, and uneven or wet surfaces.
  • Access all parts of the facility, including conveyor crossovers and mezzanine platforms.
  • Full manual dexterity required in hands, wrists, feet, including repetitive movements.

Candidate Profile

  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license for state of employment.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with working in cold temperature-controlled environments if applicable.
  • Effective communication skills and accurate basic math abilities.
  • Certification-eligible to operate all power equipment used.
  • Experienced in handling maintenance tools such as saws, drills, and grinders.
  • Competent in reading and understanding labels, tickets, and instructions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Working Hours and Schedule

Shift runs Wednesday through Saturday, from 3:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting hourly wage is $21.90, with eligibility for additional shift differential pay ranging between $2.00 and $3.50 per hour. Compensation is influenced by labor market factors and may include considerations like education, experience, and relevant certifications.
