About the Role
The Cyber Security Unit (CSU) operates within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business, focusing on strengthening cyber security capabilities across the government. CSU delivers leadership, governance, policies and standards in cyber security, promotes advocacy and capability development, and handles incident coordination. It also manages government-wide threat management services and supports state-wide industry cyber progress in Queensland.
This role involves providing high-level executive and administrative assistance to the General Manager – Cyber Security. Responsibilities include managing office functions, coordinating communications, and contributing to governance, systems management, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-level executive support, encompassing confidential secretarial and administrative duties such as maintaining the General Manager's diary, arranging meetings, handling appointments and travel bookings, managing corporate card reconciliations, and preparing related correspondence.
- Administer the shared mailbox of the General Manager’s office by distributing requests, collecting data, obtaining necessary approvals, and managing incoming communications.
- Support the continuous improvement of systems and processes, incorporating formal quality control to ensure excellent output standards and client service.
- Maintain internal records and databases while ensuring efficient information management and retrieval using commercial software like SAP, Mincor, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Develop and sustain effective working relationships with clients and stakeholders by coordinating with various internal and external departments.
- Conduct research and manage projects involving data gathering, organization, and presentation as required.
- Actively contribute as a collaborative team member to provide broad corporate governance support.
