Job description
Overview
This role serves a vital function within the Commercial Department, acting as the primary liaison between external clients and various internal teams—including production, subcontractors, purchasing, and finance—throughout the duration of projects. The position is responsible for accurately capturing all planned and additional work activities and ensuring timely invoicing to clients.
Key Duties
- Participate in VSCC and project progress meetings held aboard vessels.
- Inspect extra work completed alongside trade personnel, subcontractors, and the project owner.
- Submit and obtain approval for pricing all additional work prior to its commencement, factoring in labor hours, materials, and subcontractor costs.
- Provide weekly cost updates to the project owner.
- Prepare partial payment invoices and actively follow up on payments received.
- Engage in negotiation and final settlement of repair invoices with owners and technical superintendents.
- Track, monitor, and report project budgets and profit & loss figures on a weekly basis.
- Support project costing and revenue reporting to the Finance team for month-end closure.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years of professional experience in ship repairs or shipyard operations.
- Diploma or degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Offshore Engineering.
- Highly meticulous and detail-conscious approach to work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with SAP and Salesforce is preferred.
