Overview
The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Nursing is looking to hire a part-time contractual Evaluator (Clinical Research Assistant) for its Department of Organizational Systems and Adult Health. This role centers on recruiting and screening participants, obtaining consent, and primary data collection involving surveys and MotionWatch devices from older adult participants with dementia.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen, recruit, and consent study participants.
- Collect primary data using surveys and MotionWatch technology.
- Maintain detailed notes and records related to recruitment, screening, and data collection.
- Conduct data entry and help track study progress through regular updates and reports.
- Participate in research team meetings and assist with documentation and record keeping.
Work Schedule and Location
The role requires approximately 15 hours per week, mostly spent at assisted living facilities in the greater Baltimore area. Candidates must have access to transportation as sites may not be accessible by bus. Presence at the facilities is expected at least three weekdays weekly during daytime hours.
Training and Support
The University provides comprehensive training on human subjects research, study protocols, and role-specific procedures.
Compensation
The starting pay rate for this position is $22.00 per hour.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in a scientific field relevant to clinical research is required.
- Prior experience working with older adults is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis (30 undergraduate credits can substitute one year of experience).
