Role Overview
The Estimation Engineer position is a dedicated full-time role based onsite in Ahmedabad. The key responsibilities involve preparing comprehensive quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs), analyzing architectural and technical drawings, and crafting precise cost estimates for interior and civil engineering projects. The role includes liaising with design and project teams, assessing vendor price quotations, and assisting in negotiation processes to secure cost-effective procurement. Continuous market research on materials, pricing strategies, and trends is essential. The Estimation Engineer also maintains detailed estimation documentation, aids in budget planning and cost management during projects, regularly reviews project scope variations, updates cost estimates accordingly, and contributes to timely and competitive tender submissions.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in BOQ development and project cost estimation specifically for interior projects.
- Strong grounding in Civil Engineering or related disciplines, with the capability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
- Effective negotiation abilities for vendor engagement and cost-saving measures.
- Applied research skills encompassing materials, market rates, and industry trends for informed decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a similar field.
- Preferably prior experience in estimation roles for interior fit-outs or construction projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimation software tools; experience with CAD or equivalent design software is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical capabilities, high attention to detail, and adeptness at collaborating within cross-disciplinary teams.
- Good command of written and spoken English; additional regional language skills are a plus.
