Enterprise Architect

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Enterprise Architect to design, oversee, and steer the evolution of our organization's technology architecture. This position ensures that the technology landscape aligns seamlessly with the business strategy, setting enterprise-wide architectural standards, leading digital transformation, assessing new technologies, and providing expert guidance across domains including applications, data, infrastructure, security, cloud, and integration.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously update the enterprise architecture roadmap in line with business objectives.
• Define the current and future state architecture and manage the transition strategy.
• Assist executive leadership with technology investment decisions to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Establish and uphold architecture principles, standards, and policies, including leading Architecture Review Board sessions.
• Govern crucial technological decisions across multiple projects and review solution designs for compliance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate strategic goals into technology capabilities, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
• Oversee architecture domains such as applications, data, integration, cloud, infrastructure, security, and AI & automation.
• Drive modernization strategies including rationalizing legacy systems and championing cloud-first and API-first approaches.
• Maintain and optimize the enterprise application portfolio, identifying redundancies and consolidations, and evaluate build versus buy options.
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory frameworks, manage risk, and support business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Engage with executive leadership to communicate architecture strategies, mentor architecture teams, and foster cross-functional collaboration.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields.
• 12 to 15 years in enterprise IT, ideally in the retail industry.
• At least 5 years in enterprise architecture or leadership roles with proven success in leading large-scale digital transformation.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms and contemporary enterprise technologies.

Technical Expertise

• Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF (preferred).
• Expertise in business, solution, cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in API management, event-driven architectures, enterprise integration, data architecture, and security architecture.
• Experience with DevSecOps, AI and machine learning architecture, and architecture modeling tools (e.g., ArchiMate, Sparx EA, LeanIX).
• Strong governance and architectural pattern knowledge.

Preferred Certifications

• TOGAF certification.
