About the Role

The Careers and Employability Service (CES), part of Student Skills and Success within the Office of Students and Learning at Maynooth University, seeks two enthusiastic and collaborative Employability and Skill Development Coordinators. Reporting directly to the Experiential Learning Officer, these positions involve contributing to the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the comprehensive experiential learning and employability "UpSkill" programme.

The UpSkill programme incorporates a variety of university-wide experiential learning initiatives such as the Maynooth University Student Experience (MUSE), Summer Programme of Undergraduate Research (SPUR), MU Micro-Internships, Alumni Career Mentoring Programme, and the Skills for Success Module.

The role requires collaboration with students, academic staff, employers, and external partners to develop and promote high-quality experiential learning opportunities. The postholders will assist students across all phases of their academic journey by fostering skill development, career preparedness, informed career decisions, and subsequent career progression.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and delivery of the UpSkill experiential learning and employability programmes.
  • Collaborate closely with students, faculty, external employers, and partners to facilitate meaningful experiential learning opportunities.
  • Promote student engagement to enhance career readiness and skills development aligned with university goals.
  • Contribute towards the strategic objectives of Maynooth University's 2023-2028 Strategic Plan aimed at cultivating highly employable graduates ready to lead as innovators and decision-makers.
