The Electrical Automation Engineer position is based at the Littleton site and supports both maintenance and project engineering teams. This role focuses on enhancing current machine software, creating automated solutions for new equipment, and customizing site-specific automation outcomes.

Key Job Functions

  • Act as a technical electrical engineering resource for troubleshooting machine control issues alongside Maintenance Technicians.
  • Coordinate with external technical experts to resolve complex problems and implement solutions efficiently.
  • Create training materials documenting solutions and safe procedures to guide Maintenance Technicians.
  • Lead machine and equipment upgrade initiatives, including cost analysis, installation, and commissioning of capital and expense projects.
  • Gain expertise in capital equipment operation, control systems design, and hardware to better support maintenance activities.
  • Assist Project Engineering teams in equipment installations, start-up processes, and training.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry safety standards such as National and State Electrical Codes and NFPA70E for arc flash safety.
  • Serve as a primary resource for preventive maintenance of electrical substations and high voltage switchgear, including thorough documentation and testing.
  • Participate in various teams focused on equipment projects, safety improvements, and continuous operational enhancements concerning safety, quality, service, and cost.

Candidate Profile and Skills

  • Strong skills in project management, problem solving, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with personal computers and commonly used office software.
  • CAD proficiency is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of plant power distribution, control systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, utilize measuring devices, and develop charts and schedules.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach toward project execution.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Training or understanding of industry-standard safety work procedures.

Qualifications and Experience
