About the Role
Training and Research Foundation (TRF) invites applications for a full-time Education Manager position located in Orange and Riverside Counties, CA. This role is pivotal in advancing early childhood education, overseeing staff including Education Specialists, Site Supervisors, and Site Directors to enhance classroom quality at multiple program sites. Successful candidates will combine hands-on leadership with attention to critical details such as licensing adherence, curriculum standards, and classroom evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support direct reports including Education Specialists, Site Supervisors, and Site Directors, acting as the central accountability hub for all program locations.
- Improve educational quality through regular classroom observations and assessments using tools such as CLASS, ERS, and ITERS, promoting actionable coaching rather than mere documentation.
- Develop team members by providing continuous mentoring, professional development opportunities, and managing performance.
- Ensure all programs comply with relevant regulations, including Title 22, Title V, CDE, CDSS, and state licensing requirements; contribute to policy formulation to maintain compliance.
- Offer training and guidance on child development topics to staff, families, and the wider community to build organizational capacity.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least 24 ECE semester units; a Master's degree or bilingual skills are advantageous.
- Possession of a current California CTC Site Supervisor Permit is required; a Program Director Permit is preferred.
- A minimum of three years supervising educators working with children aged birth to 12 in state or federally funded ECE programs.
- Familiarity and experience with assessment tools such as ASQ, CLASS, DRDP, and Environmental Rating Scales (ITERS, ECERS, SACERS).
- An empathetic leadership style that balances accountability with kindness and supportiveness.
Additional Information
- All hires must pass criminal background checks including FBI, DOJ, and CAI, complete a physical exam, TB test, and required immunizations.
- Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter training must be fulfilled within two weeks of employment.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $76,000 to $79,000 annually.
