As a progressive 1-for-1 brand, each product sold supports three school days for marginalized girls worldwide, having contributed over 1.2 million school days so far.
Role Overview
The Ecommerce Specialist will be pivotal in managing and enhancing Marcella's product listings across all digital retail channels, including the Shopify Plus website and marketplaces. This role encompasses catalog maintenance, site merchandising, and continuous improvement of product presentation to drive conversions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the product catalog: setup, variant control, pricing, tagging, collections, and metafields.
- Create and update listings for new launches, restocks, preorders, and relists to ensure listing accuracy and consistency.
- Monitor inventory and availability, especially for key launches and promotional categories.
- Maintain Shopify collections aligned with marketing and strategic goals.
- Participate in catalog restructuring and bulk updates as business needs evolve.
- Develop comprehensive product detail pages (PDPs) with full information including titles, descriptions, attributes, and images, working collaboratively with creative and merchandising teams.
- Refine PDP structure and content using performance data and industry best practices.
- Support site merchandising strategies through collection curation, sorting, and personalized product visibility configurations.
- Partner with ecommerce colleagues to identify and implement improvements enhancing product page and collection conversion rates.
- Contribute to testing initiatives for product placement and promotional displays.
- Track product performance metrics to recognize opportunities or issues and communicate them effectively.
- Oversee product launch processes end-to-end, including quality assurance and checklist management.
- Manage product listings for marketplace and drop-shipping partners, ensuring timely uploads and brand consistency.
- Implement SEO best practices and coordinate with SEO agencies to maintain and improve site optimization.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams both in the US and Europe to align ecommerce efforts with broader business goals.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing Shopify ecommerce platforms, preferably Shopify Plus.
- Proven track record in product catalog setup, PDP creation, and product launch within a direct-to-consumer environment.
- Strong analytical abilities and comfort using data metrics such as conversion rates and sell-through to make decisions.
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and handling large datasets.
- Meticulous and organized with a structured approach to catalog management.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new software and technologies.
- Ability to solve problems independently, gather requisite information, and make sound decisions rapidly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with site merchandising or personalization software.
- Familiarity with bulk catalog management tools like Matrixify or Shopify CSV imports.
- Knowledge of marketplace and drop-shipping platforms.
- Previous use of Oracle NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
- Background in fashion or apparel industries.
- Interest in long-term commitment within a family-owned, fast-growing company.
