Role Overview
The Duty Manager position is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore, responsible for supervising daily hotel operations to guarantee a flawless guest journey. This role entails managing front office processes, ensuring service quality, and collaborating with departments like housekeeping, food and beverage, and engineering to swiftly address operational challenges. The Duty Manager is the primary contact for guest inquiries, complaint resolution, VIP arrivals/departures, and upholds safety, security, and brand standards continuously.
Daily Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide front office activities and team members during shifts.
- Conduct team briefings and monitor occupancy levels and room assignments.
- Prepare operational reports and support initiatives related to revenue management and cost control.
- Respond to emergencies and escalated guest concerns as the key point of contact.
- Coordinate with other hotel departments to maintain smooth operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in hotel operations or front office leadership, preferably within luxury or upscale hotels.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities, inspiring diverse teams.
- Strong guest service proficiency with excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, maintaining composure under pressure.
- Highly organized with robust time management skills and attention to operational details and reporting accuracy.
- Fluent English communication skills; additional languages are beneficial.
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems and basic office software; quick adaptability to digital tools.
- Thorough understanding of hotel safety, security protocols, and compliance, including emergency response.
- Willingness and flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays in a 24/7 environment.
- Academic background in Hospitality Management, Business, or related domains, or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager, or similar supervisory role is highly advantageous.
