About the Role

First Student, a leading transportation provider, seeks a Dispatcher to manage bus scheduling and routing while ensuring timely service and driver support. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all bus routes and schedules to guarantee timely performance.
• Provide coaching and counseling to bus drivers and monitors.
• Handle substantial volumes of phone and radio communications.
• Address scheduling and driver complaints, escalating issues to the Operations Supervisor or Contract Manager.
• Serve as the main communication contact for major contracted customers.
• Administer charter bookings, billing procedures, and driver payroll as necessary.
• Resolve issues related to drop-offs and pick-ups efficiently.
• Perform backup driver functions and miscellaneous clerical tasks when required.
• Undertake special project assignments.
• Assist with the supervision of everyday operational activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in dispatch or terminal operations.
• Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Fundamental understanding of radio dispatch equipment operation.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Capability to work effectively under deadlines and pressure.
• Computer proficiency.
• Subject to successful background verification.
