Role Overview

A prominent entity seeks a seasoned Director in Information Technology Security to spearhead the operation, advancement, and continual refinement of network and application security technologies. This leadership position is responsible for managing cybersecurity controls, security infrastructure, operational security demands, vulnerability oversight, threat mitigation practices, and overall Security Technologies function efficiency.

Primary Duties

  • Direct the operation and enhancement of network and application security technologies.
  • Administer firewall policy management, control port access requests, and manage device isolation along with website and email security protocols.
  • Maintain and optimize security systems including their signatures, configurations, and associated technologies continuously.
  • Supervise web application security protocols and resolve issues related to network and application access.
  • Conduct evaluation, testing, approval, and deployment of new security technologies and cyber defense controls.
  • Lead initiatives in vulnerability management ensuring that security weaknesses are addressed efficiently.
  • Perform root cause analysis on security incidents and ensure conformity with cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Create and maintain security policies, processes, procedures, tools, and operational models.
  • Define departmental goals, establish performance metrics, and track key performance indicators.
  • Oversee departmental operations including workforce planning, budget formulation, and strategic objectives.
  • Lead and mentor team members by setting objectives, providing feedback, and fostering professional growth.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or cognate discipline.
  • At least 7 years of relevant industry experience, inclusive of leadership or managerial roles.
  • Strong background in network security, firewall management, web application protection, vulnerability handling, and security operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading technical teams and managing intricate cybersecurity environments.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCNP Security, or equivalents are advantageous.
