Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-driven, analytically skilled, and commercially savvy Demand Planner to join our Planning team at the Los Angeles headquarters. This role involves managing forecasts across multiple product categories by synthesizing statistical data, product strategies, consumer behaviors, and channel trends to generate precise demand signals that inform business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and own demand forecasting for various product categories, integrating statistical forecasts with business trends and commercial inputs to create actionable plans.
- Lead weekly forecast review meetings to uncover risks, opportunities, and deviations from the plan.
- Collaborate closely with Merchandising to gain insights on launches, assortment changes, lifecycle strategies, and category dynamics.
- Partner with Channel Planning to align demand forecasts with channel-specific sales and inventory strategies.
- Coordinate with Data Science teams to enhance forecast accuracy by factoring in promotional activities, customer behaviors, cannibalization risks, and additional demand drivers.
- Support Open-to-Buy (OTB) and financial planning by clearly communicating changes in forecasts, demand trends, and inventory impacts.
- Analyze forecasting performance through metrics including accuracy, bias, demand variability, inventory health, and trend comparisons versus plans.
- Present detailed demand insights and strategic recommendations confidently to cross-functional teams.
- Assist with new product launches by reviewing historical comparisons, launch strategies, category trends, and channel expectations.
- Continuously improve demand planning tools, reporting methods, and workflows to support business scaling efforts.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Retail Management, or related fields.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in demand planning, merchandise planning, inventory management, forecasting, or similar analytical roles.
- Preference for candidates with experience in retail, apparel, consumer goods, or other fast-paced consumer sectors.
- Solid knowledge of forecasting methodologies, inventory management, OTB processes, and retail financial metrics.
- Proficiency in analyzing forecast accuracy, bias, demand trends, and making business-driven forecast adjustments.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, lookups, and handling large data sets.
- Familiarity with planning software such as o9, Blue Yonder, Anaplan, Relex, SAP IBP, Toolio, Oracle, or comparable platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with aptitude for deriving business insights from complex data.
- Excellent communication skills to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple product categories, priorities, and deadlines efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation
Annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000.
