Deli Associate

Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your retail skills. This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core principles, maintaining and organizing the deli area, assisting with inventory management, and facilitating the sale of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the deli department.
• Ensure stock is rotated properly and monitor for expired items.
• Confirm all merchandise is clearly labeled and accurately priced.
• Follow strict protocols regarding cold chain compliance, including thermometer calibration, temperature tracking, proper food handling, and monitoring product expiration and sell-by dates.
• Take customer orders for deli items and prepare merchandise such as sliced meats, cheeses, and fried chicken, providing assistance as needed.
• Support front-end staff with price checks when required.
• Prepare deli food orders using slicers, stackers, and other equipment; cook chicken using rotisserie ovens and deep fryers; and assemble prepared salads and side dishes for display and special customer orders.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized work area, free from debris, spills, and unnecessary items.

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this role is $18.05 per hour.

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
