The Database Administrator (DBA) team handles all digital banking databases across regions, supporting large-scale banking and finance applications by ensuring secure, stable, and consistent database solutions.

Job Description and Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of banking database administration including capacity planning, installation, backups, recovery, monitoring, security, compliance, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Assist development teams with database design, creation, tuning, and resolving database issues.
• Evaluate current software architecture and contribute recommendations for enhancing future database stability and performance.
• Initiate projects aimed at reducing database operational costs and automating routine tasks.
• Create documentation and conduct training sessions on database best practices.
• Explore and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance high availability and performance of data persistence systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in SQL, relational databases, high availability frameworks, and performance tuning.
• At least 2 years of professional DBA experience in banking, finance, or internet services sectors.
• Proven hands-on experience managing MySQL databases full-time.
• Additional experience with MS SQL Server or Oracle databases is advantageous.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Golang.
• Extensive experience with Linux operating system management and Shell scripting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, both under pressure and during routine operations.
• Attention to detail, adaptability, and flexibility.
• Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities with changing priorities.
• Eagerness to learn and work with various database technologies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills while also able to operate independently.
