Role Overview
This position is for a Cyber Security Presales Engineer based in Doha, Qatar. The role sits at the intersection of sales and technical consulting, supporting business development by shaping cybersecurity solutions, leading technical discovery, and building compelling proposals for customers across enterprise and public sector environments.
Customer Engagement and Sales Support
- Work alongside Account Executives to assess whether leads are a strong technical and commercial fit, including budget, timeline, and delivery alignment.
- Run discovery discussions to understand the customer’s security environment, current challenges, compliance gaps, and business priorities.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and maturity assessments to identify risks and map the right security approach.
Solution Design and Proposal Development
- Create end-to-end cybersecurity architectures that can operate across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
- Lead the technical response for RFI, RFP, and RFQ submissions, with attention to accuracy, compliance, differentiation, and deadlines.
- Prepare detailed and commercially sound bills of materials using multi-vendor options, pricing structures, and discount opportunities.
- Draft statements of work that clearly define scope, technical deliverables, milestones, assumptions, and exclusions to reduce delivery risk.
Technical Validation and Enablement
- Deliver persuasive technical presentations and product demonstrations that show business value and return on investment.
- Plan and manage proof of concept and proof of value exercises by defining success measures and technical scope.
- Maintain effective coordination with security vendors to stay current on roadmaps, pricing support, and solution design options.
- Support smooth transition to delivery teams through structured post-sale handover sessions.
- Provide internal enablement for sales teams on emerging security technologies, vendor programs, and competitive positioning.
Core Technical Domains
- Network and edge security, including SWG, forward and reverse proxies, WAF, and DDoS protection.
- Endpoint and content protection such as next-generation endpoint security, EDR, XDR, and email security.
- Security operations and automation, including SOAR, threat intelligence platforms, and vulnerability management processes.
- Identity and access governance covering PAM, IAM, and directory services.
- Modern architectures such as Zero Trust, SASE, and SSE.
- Cloud and data protection, including CSPM, CWPP, DLP, and encryption or masking methods.
Preferred Vendor Ecosystem Exposure
- Experience with next-generation firewall and SASE platforms such as Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet.
- Familiarity with endpoint and XDR products from Palo Alto, Trend Micro, and CrowdStrike.
- Working knowledge of network visibility and NDR solutions such as ExtraHop, Darktrace, Vectra AI, and Trellix.
- Exposure to application and edge delivery technologies from F5 and Cloudflare.
- Understanding of email security platforms from Proofpoint, Fortinet, and Trellix.
- Knowledge of identity and privileged access tools from Delinea, Xage, and BeyondTrust.
- Experience with cloud security and SSE tools such as Zscaler and Netskope.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable and Trellix.
Qualifications and Certifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or another closely related technical discipline is required.
- Professional certifications are expected or should be actively in progress, including CISSP, CISM, or CCSP.
- Additional technical certifications such as CEH or CompTIA Security+ are relevant.
- Vendor-focused certifications such as Fortinet NSE level 4 or above, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Cisco CCNP Security are also valued.
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of customer-facing cyber security presales experience, ideally within a system integrator or value-added reseller environment.
- Hands-on experience in security consulting and the design of layered enterprise security architectures.
- Proven ability to independently develop, manage, and win complex RFP and RFI opportunities for commercial and government clients.
- Experience working with different procurement approaches, compliance expectations, and stakeholder groups across enterprise and public sector accounts.

- Strong executive-level presentation ability, with the skill to translate technical risks into clear business outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to build trust and long-term credibility with clients.
- Structured analytical thinking and problem-solving ability for converting unclear environments into secure, workable designs.
- Good time management and collaboration skills for juggling multiple bids and working across sales, delivery, finance, and vendor teams.
- Leadership potential to mentor junior presales staff, own technology practice areas, and help improve internal processes.

Location: Doha, Qatar. Employment type: full-time, onsite. The role is focused on cybersecurity presales for an established company environment and requires a mix of technical depth, customer interaction, proposal ownership, and internal sales support.
