Cyber Security Analyst

Role Overview

This position is for a part-time Cyber Security Analyst working remotely with the Associação Brasileira de Bem-Estar Animal. The core responsibility is to oversee and examine security events across the organization’s applications, network infrastructure, and systems. The analyst will identify vulnerabilities and potential threats while implementing measures to protect data integrity and system availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security logs and investigate incidents to detect security breaches or events.
• Recommend and execute remediation actions to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
• Implement and maintain security controls in alignment with organizational policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to foster security best practices and awareness.
• Support security policy enforcement and contribute to enhancing overall security posture.
• Assist with security awareness campaigns and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge in cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Expertise in application security to evaluate and secure web, mobile, and internal lifecycle applications.
• Experience with network security through configuration and monitoring of firewalls, VPNs, and safeguarding network traffic.
• Thorough understanding of information security concepts ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
• Relevant educational background such as a degree in Computer Science or related fields, or certifications including CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to analyze complex technical data, prepare clear documentation, and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Hands-on knowledge of security tools such as SIEM systems, vulnerability assessment tools, and endpoint protection software.
• Self-motivated with an ability to work remotely and independently, upholding strong ethical standards and continuously learning emerging security methodologies.
