Customer Delivery Driver - Royston

About the Role

As the representative of Tesco on the road, you'll be delivering groceries directly to customers' homes. This position entails more than just driving; it involves providing excellent, friendly service to customers. The job is physically engaging and varied, with each shift offering different experiences. You will largely work independently, supported by a friendly management and colleague team at the base.

The pay starts at £14.18 per hour and increases to £15.45 in locations within the M25 area, with some sites possibly offering additional bonuses. The role guarantees at least 16 hours per week, with options for roles from 12 hours weekly.

Working Hours

• Sunday: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Thursday: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and workspaces to ensure customer orders are delivered in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely, perform all necessary checks to guarantee the vehicle's roadworthiness and reliability.
• Communicate any order changes or substitutions to customers warmly, handle short-dated items, and offer refunds as needed to ensure smooth experiences.
• Handle all products with care, treating each order as your own to maintain superior quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders within the allotted time slots, provide friendly and genuine service at customers' doorsteps, ensuring they feel appreciated and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Develop strong collaborative relationships with colleagues fostering a positive team atmosphere to enhance customer service.
• Exhibit a friendly and welcoming attitude toward customers and teammates.
• Be adaptable and responsive to changing customer needs and flexible in managing variations both on the road and in store environments.
• Possess a valid UK, EU or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
