Role Overview

The custodian position involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within commercial facilities, including cleaning rooms, halls, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, and stairways. Daily tasks consist of sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing floors, cleaning carpets and upholstered furniture, dusting, washing walls, ceilings, windows and woodwork, replenishing supplies, and emptying wastebaskets.

Location and Schedule

This position is based onsite in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, with work hours from Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:40 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned building interiors, primarily the corporate office.
• Sweep, scrub, mop, strip, wax, buff, and seal floors as instructed.
• Vacuum and clean rugs and carpets.
• Clean bathrooms, walls, fountains, windows; restock supplies.
• Empty trash from designated office areas.
• Report any necessary repairs to the supervisor promptly.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in janitorial or light building maintenance, or a comparable combination of training, education, and experience that equips the candidate with the necessary knowledge and skills.
• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
