Role Overview
We are collaborating with a prominent Irish retail company to appoint a Continuous Improvement Lead based in Cork. This role is central in enhancing operational efficiency across a diverse network that includes retail outlets, warehousing, and production facilities in the Munster region.
Key Responsibilities
- Devise and execute the organisation's Continuous Improvement strategy and its developmental roadmap.
- Oversee major business improvement and transformation initiatives from initial planning through to rollout.
- Spot areas across retail, warehousing, and production operations to boost operational efficiency, productivity, and cost savings.
- Promote Lean principles and continuous improvement philosophies throughout the company.
- Lead process mapping, value stream assessments, and initiatives aimed at eliminating waste.
- Set up governance mechanisms to ensure timely delivery, scope adherence, and measurable results of projects.
- Advocate for change management and assist leaders in adopting innovative operational methods.
- Create performance indicators, dashboards, and reports to track project outcomes and continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to operational managers on Lean techniques, problem-solving approaches, and best continuous improvement practices.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum eight years of experience in leading Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, or Business Transformation projects.
- Background in sectors such as retail, FMCG, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or supply chain.
- Mandatory Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Preferably holds formal Project Management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
- Proven capability in executing extensive process improvement and transformational programs.
- Proficient in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experienced in driving change initiatives that yield clear commercial and operational improvements.
- Skilled in analytical evaluation, leveraging data to uncover opportunities and guide strategic choices.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication abilities, capable of influencing senior executives.
- Demonstrates a collaborative leadership manner, inspiring and coaching multi-functional teams effectively.
