Construction Inspector

About the Role

Armand Corporation is inviting an experienced and meticulous Construction Inspector to join the team working on the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project, a major transportation infrastructure initiative in the United States. The chosen professional will oversee construction activities to verify adherence to project specifications, contract mandates, quality benchmarks, and relevant codes throughout every stage of construction.

Key Duties

• Carry out on-site inspections of construction processes to confirm alignment with specifications, codes, and industry standards.
• Ensure all construction phases meet the established contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements.
• Perform quality control functions including witnessing testing processes stipulated by Project Contracts during ongoing construction.
• Document and report thoroughly on all inspections and tests, highlighting findings, observations, and any deviations or non-conformities.
• Liaise with Special Inspection Testing Agencies and Project Contractors to arrange and facilitate inspections and testing procedures.
• Maintain comprehensive and precise records of inspections, results, and any corrective measures implemented.
• Identify compliance issues or safety risks and promptly communicate them to the Quality Manager and project stakeholders.
• Attend field meetings regularly to collaborate and resolve technical challenges supporting project milestones.
• Ensure inspection activities comply fully with the Quality Management Plan and Standard Operating Procedures of the Hudson Tunnel Project.
• Support the enactment of quality control and acceptance processes as required for the project.
• Assist with audits aimed at verifying compliance with project specifications and federal regulations.
• Stay updated on relevant project documentation, including plans, specifications, and legal regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

• At minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least three years of hands-on experience in construction inspection, ideally with significant exposure to large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
• Solid understanding of construction techniques, materials, and applicable codes such as AASHTO, ASTM, and local building regulations.
• Experienced in quality assurance and control methodologies and documentation practices.
• Competence in reading and interpreting construction documents and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot and document non-compliance issues effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with inspection reporting software and digital tools.
• Preferred OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety certification.
• Capability to perform work in challenging environments including active construction sites and tunnels.
• A firm commitment to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory adherence.
