Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Communications Associate role aims to elevate Inkomoko's visibility in Ethiopia among key stakeholders such as government entities, donors, and media outlets. Candidates should possess prior communications, PR, and media experience, along with strong writing and storytelling capabilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and produce communication materials highlighting Inkomoko Ethiopia's impact.
- Coordinate communications campaigns and produce engaging blog posts and client profiles.
- Contribute content to external publications like annual reports and manage internal newsletters.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with Ethiopian press to secure prominent coverage.
- Create media campaign assets including press releases, media kits, and social media content.
- Organize event logistics and content for Ethiopia’s Managing Director’s media engagements and other events.
- Manage vendors producing videos, photographs, and PR materials.
- Monitor social media trends and update management accordingly.
- Train and engage staff to support social media, communications, and brand-building efforts.
- Promote Inkomoko’s value proposition to SMEs aligned with sales objectives.
- Recruit clients through marketing campaigns and coordinate website and social media presence.
- Manage production and follow-up of promotional materials such as banners, t-shirts, and flyers.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a closely related field.
- Five to seven years of relevant professional experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and local languages.
- Strong networking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently.
- Proven track record with local and international media campaign placements.
- Graphic design skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with software tools like MailChimp, Canva, and other communication technologies.
- Experience in video production or coordinating communication consultants.
