Role overview
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is hiring a Clinical Trials Coordinator to join Research and Innovation and help support research activity across all MFT hospitals. In this role, you will coordinate the research portfolio for the Commercial Research Delivery Centre and contribute to the delivery of studies within a busy clinical research environment.
You will be part of a collaborative team working with investigators recognised nationally and internationally for leading advanced research that helps develop new diagnostics and treatments. The team has a strong track record of designing and running its own studies, as well as delivering national and international research projects.
What the role involves
The post calls for someone who is highly organised, self-motivated, and confident handling a busy and changing workload. You will need strong communication skills, solid IT ability, and the capacity to manage multiple projects at the same time.
You will serve as a central contact for the Commercial Research Delivery Centre, working with the Trust Research Office, clinical teams, service support departments across MFT, and external pharmaceutical partners. Your focus will be to make sure study set-up and coordination are supported by robust, efficient, and high-quality administrative processes.
Quality, governance, and compliance
Part of the role is ensuring that all research coordination activity follows internal standard operating procedures and the relevant regulatory framework, so that the research portfolio for the speciality is delivered successfully and compliantly.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will hold a degree in a health-related subject, or be able to demonstrate substantial experience in research and clinical trial delivery and management. Previous line management experience would be an advantage.
