Job Overview
Join us as a Cleansing Crew Operator in the heart of Sydney, working full-time in a permanent capacity with multiple shifts available including day, afternoon, and night. This role offers an annual salary of $75,609 plus superannuation benefits.
About the Role
In this position, you will actively contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and vitality of Sydney’s urban spaces. The job involves diverse daily tasks such as manual cleaning and operating mechanical sweepers and refuse vehicles, servicing street litter bins, and addressing bulk waste removal in various public precincts including footpaths, roadways, and plazas. Full training will be provided across an array of specialized equipment and technologies to support your professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out manual street cleansing and bulk waste removal including illegal dumping clearance.
- Operate and drive street sweepers, waste compactors, and other relevant plant machinery safely and effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness across multiple city public areas aligning with municipal standards.
- Adapt to task variations and follow directions to meet operational needs.
- Comply with shift schedules including weekdays, some weekends, and public holidays.
Candidate Requirements
- Physically robust and capable of performing labor-intensive activities.
- Experienced in manual street cleaning and bulk waste operations; waste removal experience is preferred.
- Holds a valid Medium Rigid or Heavy Vehicle driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven ability to safely operate and maintain plant equipment and street sweepers.
- Flexibility to accommodate shift work and rostered day off structure (e.g., 9-day fortnight).
- Passion for contributing to a cleaner, healthier community environment.
Additional Information
- The role includes a rostered day off every two weeks as part of a 9-day fortnight schedule.
- Applicants must successfully complete a pre-employment health declaration and medical evaluation.
