Position Summary

The Cashier role is essential in delivering prompt, courteous, precise, and secure service to customers. Responsibilities include handling checkout and return transactions, overseeing the self-checkout area, and acquiring product and project knowledge to inform and assist customers as well as pinpoint sales opportunities. Adherence to company policies and procedures is necessary to reduce inventory shrinkage.

Role of Head Cashier

The Head Cashier helps manage cashier staff by assigning duties, facilitating price verifications, authorizing point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various registers including mainline, self-checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. This position also addresses initial customer issues escalations and supports the training and coaching of front-end team members, particularly new cashiers, using available resources to foster their development.
