Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Carpentry position located in Galway involves performing various carpentry duties such as installing and repairing structural and finishing elements including doors, frames, flooring, partitions, and roofing parts. Key daily tasks consist of reading and interpreting technical drawings, accurate measurement and cutting of materials, assembling and securing timber structures, and ensuring all work adheres to safety and quality standards. The carpenter will collaborate closely with site supervisors and other tradespeople, maintain their tools and equipment, and comply fully with site safety guidelines and company protocols.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Solid hands-on carpentry expertise, including measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing timber and associated materials.
• Ability to understand and work from construction drawings and specifications with precision in layout and planning.
• Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and a strong commitment to health and safety compliance.
• Proficient use of hand and power tools, ensuring safe operation of carpentry equipment.
• Possession of a relevant carpentry trade qualification or apprenticeship or equivalent practical site experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to high-quality workmanship.
• Dependable, punctual, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a site team.
• Having a full driving license and experience on civil or building projects within Ireland is advantageous.
