Caretaker - Student Accommodation

Role overview

Homes for Students is a major UK student accommodation provider, and this opening is for a Caretaker at The Paragon in Brentford. The position is a 40-hour week, with working hours from 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

What you will do

You will help keep the property running smoothly by handling everyday maintenance and presenting a well-kept site. The role focuses on reacting quickly and professionally to reported issues so residents receive a reliable, high-quality service.

• Carry out painting work as needed.
• Clear blocked drains.
• Repair or replace taps.
• Change lightbulbs.
• Pick litter around the perimeter of the property.
• Support the overall condition, upkeep, and repair standards of the building.
• Help ensure faults are addressed promptly and service quality remains high.

What we are looking for

Applicants should have prior property maintenance experience in a comparable setting, or a trade background with the ability to work competently across several maintenance disciplines. You should understand health and safety duties and legal requirements, and bring strong customer care, communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills. The ability to manage priorities, meet overlapping deadlines without constant supervision, and work proactively using your own initiative is important. A flexible attitude and willingness to work well within a team are also needed.
