Retraining Details

• Theoretical lessons take place in one of our regional training centers, while practical assignments are arranged close to your residence if possible.
• The full-time retraining program consists of 39 hours per week combining theoretical and practical sessions.
• Training classes include up to 12 participants, equipping you with the knowledge needed for the daily tasks of a switchman.

Post-Training Responsibilities

• You will manage train traffic controls on small and medium interlocking systems using levers, push-buttons, and rotary switches, following instructions from the train dispatchers.
• Your duties include verifying routes, clearing tracks, performing clearance checks, observing trains, and documenting operational tasks according to regulations.
• You will communicate and coordinate regularly with colleagues in the interlocking system, train dispatchers, and control centers.
• Additional responsibilities involve overseeing and regulating rail routes and closing tracks during disturbances.

Candidate Profile

• You hold at least a qualified secondary school certificate (Hauptschulabschluss).
• Capable of maintaining composure and oversight in demanding situations.
• Possess a personal vehicle and demonstrate mobility readiness near your place of residence.
• Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to take responsibility.
• Flexibility and readiness for shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
