A leading engineering and steel fabrication firm located in Kerry is looking for an experienced Nesting Technician / CAD-CAM Programmer to join their expert team. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine CAD/CAM programs tailored for sophisticated 3D laser cutting and fabrication techniques.
• Create custom programming solutions that enhance production speed and accuracy.
• Analyze and interpret complex technical documents including 2D engineering drawings, 3D digital models, STEP files, and Bills of Materials to ensure accurate production preparation.
• Validate design information prior to releasing for manufacturing to prevent errors.
• Maximize material usage efficiency through optimized nesting strategies in a steel fabrication setting.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and production departments to streamline manufacturing procedures.
• Assist in troubleshooting and promote ongoing improvements within engineering workflows.
• Keep detailed production documentation and maintain accurate records throughout processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience operating CAD/CAM systems in settings such as fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
• Familiarity with 3D laser cutting technology, CNC programming, or automated manufacturing methods is preferred.
• Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
• Previous exposure to steel fabrication or mechanical engineering environments is considered an asset.
• Detail-oriented, adept at problem-solving, with enthusiasm for continuous learning.
• Capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively within a specialist technical team.
