Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Buyer to manage a vital purchasing segment within our extensive manufacturing operation located in Wilmington, Ohio. This role is pivotal in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of components and materials that contribute directly to producing life-saving equipment for first responders worldwide. Key Responsibilities

• Fully oversee purchasing activities for a designated category of complex, durable manufactured parts and materials.
• Establish and nurture strong, accountable partnerships with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, monitor delivery schedules, and address stock shortages promptly.
• Coordinate closely with production, scheduling, and quality teams daily to synchronize material supply with manufacturing demands.
• Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal quality control, managing investigations of non-conforming goods and enforcing corrective measures.
• Proactively manage supplier lead times, order quantities, and safety stock levels to ensure smooth production flow while optimizing inventory costs.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in purchasing.
• Strong background in durable goods manufacturing, including in-depth knowledge of parts, production processes, and supplier performance evaluation.
• Excellent communication skills and resilience to effectively manage challenging supplier negotiations and enforce commitments.
• Demonstrated employment stability with a willingness to establish a long-term career within the organization.
• Ability to adapt swiftly to new ERP software and comfortably operate within an FDA-regulated, ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
